Getting to Riccione by car, train and plane
The A14 motorway, a station on the Bologna-Ancona line, Rimini airport a few kilometres away and the Metromare along the coast: every way to reach Riccione, Misano and Cattolica.
Riccione sits in the middle of the Romagna riviera, between Rimini and Cattolica, and is easy to reach by any means.
By car
The A14 Bologna-Ancona motorway has its own Riccione exit, a few minutes from the centre and the sea. It takes about an hour and a quarter from Bologna and about three and a half hours from Milan. For Misano and Cattolica use the Riccione or Cattolica exits. Alternatively, the Adriatica (SS16) road runs parallel to the coast.
In summer and on festive evenings the centre and seafront have restricted traffic zones: it’s best to leave the car in a car park and walk or use public transport.
By train
Riccione station is on the Bologna-Ancona line, a short walk from Viale Ceccarini. Regional trains and several long-distance trains stop here; otherwise change at Rimini, about ten minutes away. Misano Adriatico and Cattolica have their own stations on the same line.
By plane
The nearest airport is Federico Fellini in Rimini, a few kilometres from Riccione, with mostly seasonal flights. All year round you can fly into Bologna, linked to Rimini by train, or Ancona.
Along the coast: the Metromare
The Metromare is a rapid bus on a dedicated lane linking Rimini and Riccione stations along the coast, with frequent stops. It’s the easiest way to move between the two towns without a car, festive evenings included.
Between Riccione, Misano and Cattolica
The three towns are just a few kilometres apart: local buses, trains, taxis or, in the warmer months, a bike along the seafront.
Timetables, fares and routes can change: always check the websites of Trenitalia, the airport and the local transport company before you travel.
