The Green Pearl of the Adriatic

Riccione is the best-known resort on the Romagna riviera: six and a half kilometres of sandy beach, Viale Ceccarini with its shops and cafés, and the gardens and early twentieth-century villas that earned it the nickname Green Pearl.

What to see

  • Viale Ceccarini and Piazzale Ceccarini: the town’s living room, for evening strolls all year round and the New Year’s Eve party.
  • The seafront and the canal harbour: from Piazzale Roma to the harbour, past the numbered beach establishments.
  • Villa Mussolini and Villa Lodi Fè: two historic villas on the seafront and in the park, now hosting exhibitions and events.
  • Oltremare and Aquafan: the parks on the hills behind town, open in the warmer months.

Good to know

Riccione is linked to Rimini by the Metromare, the rapid bus running along the coast, and is a few minutes from Misano Adriatico and Cattolica. In winter the town stays lively at weekends and fills up for the December holidays and New Year’s Eve.
